Syringe Recall Notice Reminder

October 29th, 2009 · No Comments

Welcome back!

Recently we were reminded of a syringe recall notice sent out regarding the Accusure insulin syringes. Apparently, an Alabama company recalled millions of insulin syringes it had distributed around the country since early 2002 because of the complaints they were receiving.

Four complaints were received related to how the needle was detaching from the syringe. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Sometimes a needle can detach while it is being used, causing it to become stuck in the vial, pushed back into the syringe, or remain in the users skin after they inject themselves. The syringes come from a number of different manufacturers and consumers should immediately stop using them.

Further information can be obtained from the Food and Drug Administration or the company can be contacted by calling 800-444-4011.
