Welcome back!
Do you ever feel like life has passed you by? Is there something you always wanted to do, but you feel at your age it’s too late? Well, I have good news for you.
Although I have not yet read his book, I came across the announcement that 79-year-old Bob Frey just published his first novel. He has written a classic mystery story called The DVD Murders, and is getting some pretty good reviews.
The hero of the mystery is Frank Callahan, a detective who is gay. He and Barry, his Irish Catholic sidekick, are on the tail of an elusive killer around the Los Angeles, CA area.
The 265-page police procedural is filled with classic film references and a number of scenes throughout the book take place at famous LA landmarks.
Here is a quote by Mr. Frey as he gives advice to seniors:
Don’t let others get you down. Sure, you can’t run a four minute mile or play professional football, but if you have a book or good story inside you, sit down and write it. It will not only give you pleasure to do it, but someone may actually enjoy reading it.
Mr. Frey used to be involved in the film industry and currently lives in Oregon with his wife, Susan.
You can check out his website and read an excerpt of his book at http://BobFreyBooks.com or purchase his book at Amazon.com.
Remember, it’s never too late to try something new. You may not be as agile as you once were, so skydiving may be out of the question. Although, with the elder George Bush diving on his 85th birthday recently, maybe you still can.
Anyway, you should not give up your dream. What is still in your heart that you would love to accomplish? What’s stopping you?
