Elder Care Cafe

Hi! I am Edie Dykeman and welcome to the Elder Care Cafe. This website was created for caregivers and friends involved in elder care.

With twenty-five years experience in the health care industry, my day job as a caregiver for my eighty-six-year-old father seemed the logical next step. We have shared a home since September 2006, the home he and Mom shared for thirty-two years.

In my spare time I am a freelance writer and blogger working almost exclusively online.

Humor helps me deal with difficult situations. It sometimes shocks people who don’t understand, but I think most caregivers know we do what we need to do, to accomplish what we need to accomplish.
